About JMT

In 1945, a group of dedicated parents and teachers decided to produce a variety show to raise funds for the Jenkintown School District Home & School Association.

Jenkintown Music Theatre (JMT) licensed its first Broadway musical, Where’s Bugsby in 1949, and the legacy of producing high quality musical theatre productions continues 75 years later

Since that simple beginning, we have incorporated as a non-profit in 2013 and have become one of the premiere community theatre groups in the Philadelphia area.

We are proud to support the arts in the Jenkintown School District through awards for students involved in the arts. JMT also supports other community outreach programs, such as the Jenkintown Food Cupboard.

We are committed to building on the foundation established by Dolly and Frank Kuykendall, and the numerous volunteers who have contributed to the success of our shows over the years, and we hope to continue that legacy for many years to come!
